Flying Internationally with your Pet

Flying with your pet can be stressful but we are here to help!

Pet International Health Certificates in North Hollywood, CA

We offer Health Certificates for $400 to current clients and $425 to new clients. You will receive an estimate via email. Please ensure that you go to the Aphis Website to look for the requirements to fly—again, we only do International Health Certificates to the EU and Korea: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/pet-travel/us-to-another-country-export.

We are NOT a travel agency, therefore it is your responsibility to do the appropriate research on what your pet needs to travel.

Note: If you’re traveling to Korea, ensure you have plenty of time to coordinate your trip. Your dog or cat is REQUIRED to have a Rabies Antibody Test (FAVN) before submission to the USDA. This blood test is sent to a third-party lab, and it takes 4-6 weeks for us to get the results back. Having results back does not guarantee flying with your pet, as their antibody test needs to be (0.5 IU/ml or higher). If it’s LESS than what is required, your pet would need a rabies vaccine, wait 21 days, and re-do the FAVN test again. This is for Korea ONLY.

Upon looking at the requirements, and you’re ready to schedule, we require a $85 deposit. This deposit is for paperwork review, meaning we are looking at any records you’ve emailed us (rabies certificate and microchip information) or your pet’s chart. **You’re not coming in with your pet**. If your pet has gotten the rabies vaccine elsewhere, please email us the Rabies Certificate.

If everything is all in order with USDA requirements from the Rabies Certificate and Microchip information, we will schedule you for the exam with Dr. Park to do the Health Certificate. This is when you come in with your pet! The health certificate needs to be done within ten days of travel. We do not control how fast the USDA will endorse the certificate, so please ensure to schedule the exam for the Health Certificate with the appropriate time for it to be submitted and shipped to you. Let us know when your travel date is! We do International Health Certificates on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We do not do them on Fridays as USDA does not look at submissions over the weekend.

When we submit the Health Certificate to the USDA, you will receive the submission information as well as a copy of the UPS label. We will notify you when your documents have been endorsed so you can start tracking them with your UPS label. Ensure your information is up to date (name, address, email), as this is the information we will use for all of your documents and where the endorsed certificate will be shipped once it is ready.
