Cold Laser Therapy
Light is used during a non-invasive technique called cold laser therapy to enhance blood flow and improve circulation. At Berkley Pet Hospital, a laser with several wavelengths that promotes tissue healing, as opposed to a surgical laser, does not cut tissue. To determine whether your pet is a good candidate for laser therapy, your veterinarian will first assess their need for pain management.
Laser therapy is not advised for animals with cancer since it may exacerbate or spread the tumor. Your physician will come up with a customized treatment plan for you. The most effective pain management for dogs is achieved by eight to ten treatments, beginning two to three times per week and decreasing to once per week.
